Barney’s Beanery 5 Alarm Firefighters’ Chili Cookoff

April 20th, 2011

Barney’s Beanery’s 90th anniversary will be marked with festivities, rock n roll, and our staple menu item: chili! 10 talented firefighters will cook off for the chance to have their chili sold on our menu, with proceeds benefiting the Alisa Ann Ruch Burn Foundation. Hosted by the new announcer of The Price is Right, George Gray, our chili cookoff will feature a live band, raffle, celebrity judges, Sparky the Firedog, disaster prevention presentations, Shakey Quakey – earthquake simulations for kids, firetruck “show-me’s,” pop-a-shot competitions against world champion Ricardo the Busboy, and of course, chili tasting! There will be an official winner – as decided by our panel of celebrity judges, and a people’s choice winner – as decided by everyone else!

On the day of the event, Barney’s Beanery will need help with set up, take down, and everything in between! Please fill out this spreadsheet and we will contact you one week prior to the event with your assigned shift.

Volunteers will receive a classic Barney’s Beanery t-shirt and a pipin’ hot meal!
