UCLA VOLUNTEER CENTER: Artist Mentors ...
Awaken Arts is a non-profit organization that creates a safe space where people can us...

Artist Mentors Needed to Change the Lives of 16-18 year old at-risk teens

April 16th, 2017

Location: 972 Hilgard Avenue Los Angeles CA 90024
Duration: Multiple Days
First Day : Apr 16, 2017
Last Day: Jun 1, 2017

Awaken Arts is a non-profit organization that creates a safe space where people can use various art forms as a mode for healing. We create a supportive environment for all of the Mentees and the Mentors, so they can share their stories without fear. The majority of people that participate in our program have gone through hardships, but as artists, we know the cathartic power of creating; we step back and let them process their own story in another form.

We are currently looking for artists for our upcoming Spring Catalyst Program at Sunburst Youth Academy. In this program, you will be using your artistic skill to change the lives of 16-18-year-old at-risk teens. To date, we have done 10 programs with Sunburst Youth Academy helping over 2000 at-risk youth, and we hope to continue using art as a healing tool to help them. A lot of artists have come back to our program over and over again to help.
