Arts for LA, a local arts advocacy non-profit organization, is partnering with Amnesty International to bring a week of arts activism to Los Angeles. The goal: harness the creative power of the arts to inspire 10,000 actions on behalf of Amnesty International’s Write for Rights campaign. Art For Rights, hosted at the world famous Container Yard in Downtown Los Angeles, will see the creation of 12 original murals, the curation of a provocative installation on the current refugee crisis, a high profile visual arts competition hosted by Secret Walls, and a series of curated discussions around human rights and the arts.
We’re currently looking for dedicated volunteers to support Art for Rights event programming on Saturday, December 10, 2016 and/or Sunday, December 11, 2016 at the Container Yard in Downtown Los Angeles (800 E 4th St, Los Angeles, CA 90013).
This event is a great opportunity for anyone looking to learn more about social impact art and human rights issues. Volunteers will work alongside Amnesty International staff, artists, and production teams to ensure the event runs smoothly and will be able to engage with community members and artists/ activists/ advocates on human rights, freedom of expression, and social justice topics.
