Taking place in 2014 from September 21 to October 4, for the first California edition Ambulante will concentrate on reaching out across the five counties of the Los Angeles metropolitan area.
r Each day, the festival will pop up a free screening event at a different place and invite the filmmaker to engage in conversation with audiences after the film. The mission is to support non-fiction narrative storytelling that represents a diverse heritage, and to generate vital exchanges of expression and dialogue. Although geared towards the Latino population, the festival is committed to being inclusive and will reach out to engage all underrepresented people of color, age, and gender orientation. Breaking fee from traditional commercial venues the tour will include high schools, universities and museums. Driven by its rogue identity and mission to revitalize urban spaces it will also screen outdoor in parks, plazas and makeshift spaces.
