Position: After-School Tutor Volunteer
r Objectives: To keep youth safe, help working families improve their student’s academic progress and provide enjoyable recreational activities to the youth in our properties.
r Reports to: Resident Services Coordinator and Resident Services Manager
r Major Responsibilities:
r 1. With the guidance of a Resident Service Coordinator assist in:
r a. Set up and clean up of the community room
r b. Provide homework support and 1to1 tutoring
r c. Organizing recreational, computer, arts and crafts activities
r d. Monitor student behavior
r e. Mentoring and being a positive role model
r 2. This position requires the volunteer to supervise minors
r 1. Volunteers must be at least 16 years of age (exceptions made at RS Manager’s discretion)
r 2. Previous experience in facilitating activities for school age children is welcome but not necessary
r 3. Enthusiasm, patience, a sense of fun, concern for safety, and a caring for children is essential
r • Attend 1 hour orientation
r • Duration of commitment varies
r • Comply with policies and procedures of the CCSM On-Site Resident Services Volunteer Program.
r • All volunteers over that age of 18 working with minors must complete a criminal background check
r • All volunteers who drive as part of their service (this excludes transportation from home to CCSM properties) are required comply with CCSM’s policy regarding use of personal automobiles. At a minimum, volunteers must provide CCSM with a current copy of their valid driver’s license and proof of personal automobile insurance that is consistent with California law.
r Ideally twice a week, put will consider once a week, for three hours from 3pm to 6pm.
