Location: Abbot Kinney Blvd Los Angeles CA 90291
Duration: Multiple Days
First Day : Sep 28, 2013
Last Day: Sep 29, 2013
Primarily run by volunteers, the AKF is in it’s 29th year of celebrating the culture and creativity of Venice, CA. It is a free arts & music event, with all proceeds going to the Abbot Kinney Festival Association Community Grants program, which provides funding for programs and services by local youth & family services from Venice nonprofits. The majority of volunteers tasks are in the KidsQuad, which is a mini-carnival for younger kids. It’s a great fit for students who enjoy working with children ages 4-9, as they would be making crafts and doing activities. Volunteers receive 4hrs of service credit, a cool AKF t-shirt & free lunch from Whole Foods. In addition to giving back to the community, the festival is best known for its unique array of local artisan crafts, live music, good food, and commitment to the environment.
