Big Sunday started in 1999 as a single day of service. Over the years, the organization has become an independent nonprofit offering more than 2000 ways for people to help throughout the year.
Still, our biggest event remained Big Sunday Weekend in May, an incredible three-day festival of helping. After 17 years, we’ve simply grown too big to contain everything in one weekend, so we’re now expanding to A Month of Big Sundays!
In May 2016, Big Sunday will be hosting and/or sponsoring special community service and community-building projects every single day of the month. This shift now allows Big Sunday to take on even bigger projects, reach more people, make new alliances, and more easily fit in with the busy schedules of the many nonprofit organizations and schools it partners with annually.
From school/community beautifications and exciting group adventures to book fairs, habitat restorations, beach clean-ups and everything else in between, we facilitate a plethora of service projects for everyone – including individuals, families, groups, clubs and more! To sign up for community service projects throughout May 2016, please visit www.bigsunday.org. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org or call 323-549-9944 for more info.
Big Sunday’s mission is to build community through community service. A Month of Big Sundays provides a wide breath of community service projects to the public to meet the passion, talent, skill and age of all willing volunteers.
