This year, thousands of people across America will be walking to beat NF–neurofibromatosis, a genetic disorder that affects 1 in 3,000 people, including those living in the Los Angeles community.
r NF causes tumors to grow on nerves throughout the body. There is no cure nor are there effective treatments for NF.
r NF Walk is a national fundraising program of the Children’s Tumor Foundation that supports NF research, raises awareness, and provides support for individuals with NF and their families.
r This year will be the 9th annual walk for Los Angeles and last year the event, with help from the community, raised over $140,000. This money will go into research to help find a cure for NF and the event helps spread awareness of this disorder.
7 am - 12pm are the hours available for volunteers. We can talk on an individual basis about hours if needed
