2011 Greater Los Angeles Homeless Count

November 15th, 2010

Volunteers are needed in on the nights of January 25th-January 27th to count homeless men, women, and children across Los Angeles County. Volunteers will gather at deployment sites in their communities across Greater Los Angeles to receive training and then go out in teams by car, bike or on foot, to visually count the number of homeless persons living in a specified area. The count will be conducted in West LA County on Wednesday, January 26th, from 8:00PM-12:00AM.

We are looking for counting volunteers and volunteer trainers.

Counters: (8:00PM-1200AM): Counters will be deployed in groups of two or three to count specific blocks in your area. You will receive training and material on the day of the count from trained volunteers. You will be outside counting for two to three hours.

Trainers (7:00PM-10:00PM): Volunteer trainers will be responsible for training all volunteer counters at a specific deployment center. Volunteer trainers will take on a leadership role and should be comfortable giving directions. LAHSA will provide training prior to the date of the count.
