Volunteer Day 2012 Impact Report

January 29th, 2013

As the UCLA Volunteer Center continues to grow, so does our impact on surrounding communities. Last September, over 6,000 volunteers participated in UCLA’s annual day of service. 52 community partner site locations benefited from UCLA volunteer efforts, double the number of sites from the previous year.

“I appreciate so much the energy and willingness of all the volunteers,” said Cara Schneider, principal of Noble Avenue Elementary School. Davita Mc Cauley, Principal of Virginia Road Elementary School applauded volunteers with, “I must take the time to thank you for a dream come true. Virginia Road looks great and our students are so proud of their school. They are still chanting ‘U-C-L-A’”. These sentiments were echoed by many service partners who were grateful to UCLA for continuing to reach out to the community and build connections.
