Take a student-guided tour of the first UCLA Volunteer Day, Sept. 22, 2009. More than 4,000 students fanned out across the city to pitch in at schools, beaches and Griffith Park. They tackled jobs like painting, clearing brush, digging and picking up trash. At the end of the day, they could see the results of their efforts: even a few hours make a difference if they’re multiplied by thousands of volunteers.
