Volunteer Appreciation Week 2013

April 4th, 2014
UCLA leads the nation in volunteering, and each year Bruins contribute to hundreds of thousands of hours of community service.

Taking place on April 21 – 27, Volunteer Appreciation Week is an extension of a national campaign to celebrate the people and organizations participating in community service across America. During this week, the UCLA Volunteer Center will recognize the service efforts of volunteers and campus groups that make a difference in communities across Greater Los Angeles.

The narrative of giving back is a part of UCLA’s identity. Students, faculty, staff, parents, and alumni contribute countless hours each year to volunteer projects taking place in local communities. From mentoring to building school gardens, the myriad ways that Bruins make a difference are as diverse as the backgrounds of the volunteers themselves.

All Bruins are invited to participate in Volunteer Appreciation Week at UCLA by signing up for a service project, sharing a volunteer experience on the Volunteer Center’s Facebook page, or wearing a service related t-shirt around Bruin Plaza on April 26, 2013 to receive a complimentary gift of appreciation.
