UCLA Sustainable Move Out

This is a UCLA volunteer.

Moving out? With some simple planning, you can help not only reduce your carbon footprint, but also give your gently used furniture a loving home. This year, efforts are underway to offer students an opportunity to donate unwanted household and bulky items. Partnering with local non-profits, UCLA will be hosting two “Sustainable Move Out” weekend events in the North Village area.

Why should I donate? Reducing and efficiently managing our waste is one of the ways we can reduce our environmental footprints. We can get closer to our zero waste goals as a community by using lower-waste alternatives and changing our habits. Each of us has the power to make a difference in our everyday lives!

For this event, volunteers will be needed to help load items into sanitation trucks, sort items for donations and help answer student questions regarding disposal of household items.
