UCLA Health Related Volunteering Opportunities

GSP General Student Program (Year-Round)

UCLA Health offers year-long volunteer opportunities to support medical staff and enhance patient experience. There are three available opportunities: (1) Patient Transport, (2) Wayfinding, (3) Floater. Volunteers are expected to volunteer for a minimum of 100 hours a year, or 4 hours a week.

Companion Care Companion Care

​The UCLA Companion Care Program is a volunteer-driven initiative designed to enhance the hospital experience for older adult patients by providing meaningful companionship and support during their stay. Trained volunteers engage with patients through activities such as reading, playing games, assisting with meals, and accompanying them on walks under nurse supervision.

Scope SCOPE Volunteering Opportunities

Students for Community Outreach, Promotion, and Education (SCOPE) is a community service organization that empowers underserved populations in Los Angeles through a variety of unique volunteer programs. SCOPE consists of FIVE programs that each target specific communities: (1) UCLA All Brains, (2) Fitness and Nutrition, (3) Hablamos Juntos, (4) Patient Health Advocates, (5) Youth Empowerment Program. Mobile Eye Clinic Mobile Eye Clinic

The UCLA Mobile Eye Clinic provides free eye care services and glasses for medically under-resourced communities in Los Angeles County. They offer both volunteer and internship opportunities for UCLA students/affiliates. Look on their website for more information and apply by emailing community@jsei.ucla.edu.
