UCLA Blood & Platelet Donation Drive

This is a logo for the UCLA Blood & Platelet Center.

Did you know that 1 donation can potentially save up to 3 lives? Every 2 seconds someone in the U.S. needs blood. Less than 38 percent of the population is eligible to give blood or platelets. Blood and platelet donations are greatly needed within the United States. We are asking the UCLA community to donate blood and platelets. The UCLA Blood & Platelet Center, located in Ackerman Union and on Gayley Ave, is responsible for providing a healthy blood component supply for patients at the Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center, the UCLA Mattel Children’s Hospital, and the Santa Monica UCLA Hospital. The UCLA Blood & Platelet Center collects approximately 60,000 donations per year. These donations yield about 75% of the blood and platelets transfused to our patients. If you are not living in Westwood or the Los Angeles area, please find your local blood/platelet donation centers and donate on September 30. Make the appointment today!
