Are you a leader, or do you want to be one? Staff and faculty are sought to lead 5,000 students on UCLA Volunteer Day, Tuesday, Sept. 21. During last year’s inaugural event, hundreds of volunteer task captains teamed up to lead 5,000 students in UCLA’s largest community project.
This year, 5,000 incoming freshmen will fan out to a wide variety of sites across Los Angeles, beautifying and restoring schools, parks, hospitals, shelters and nature sites. Task captains will play a crucial role by setting up on-site operations, directing teams, guiding buses and performing various leadership duties on this epic day.
Sign up online by Tuesday, June 1. You will then be assigned to a site leader, who will lead you throughout the process, from serving at a specific site to attending a training session during the summer or early in September. All task captains will be provided with lunch, water, a Volunteer Day t-shirt and transportation to the site on the day of the event.
