The UCLA Volunteer Center has launched a brand new service to help you ditch those uninspiring fast food lunch options: Hunger Hotspots. Using the website directory, hungry individuals can find out which student groups on campus are fundraising by serving up tasty treats at great prices. Listings conveniently explain who is doing the selling, what’s being sold, for how long and where on campus.
Don’t risk missing out on some home-made brownies because you already ate that pre-packaged pastry. Plus, Hunger Hotspots hunters will not only find delicious food options, but also get the satisfaction of knowing their money is going toward a good cause.
Directory listings explain both the logistics of the food being served, and what specifically the proceeds will benefit. Some upcoming food: spam musubis, dim sum, boba and pan dulce. Among the beneficiaries: Nikkei Student Union Cultural Night, a hepatitis B awareness event, and the Sojourn Shelter for Battered Women and their Children.
