Volunteers Needed for Soil Improvement Project
Opportunity Description
On August 27th, 8:30 am-12 pm, we will be doing a soil improvement project with our partner Root Down LA at the George Washington Carver Middle School Garden, and we need volunteers to help us add new soil and plant wildflowers.
Why does this event matter? Many schools in the Los Angeles region have degraded soils and reports have shown the lack of green spaces within many of these schools. Healthy soils mean healthy ecosystems, growth of more green spaces, learning opportunities for the youth, the ability to grow food for communities with food deserts and so much more.
We would love to invite you to this event and if you can’t join, we ask that you please share with your networks.
