Opportunity Description
The Hirshberg Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer Research is seeking a current UCLA student to help us prepare for our 26th L.A. Cancer Challenge 5k Walk/Run. The LACC is our annual Halloween-themed fundraiser held at UCLA at Wilson Plaza on Sunday, October 22, 2023. All proceeds benefit our research and resources for patients and their loved ones.
What are we asking of our Student Liaison?
Duration: September – October with the possibility of an extension.
Hours: Volunteer for 4-6 hours per week in our West LA office, with major flexibility. Put in an additional 4-6 hours remotely on your own time. They must be available all day on Saturday, October 21, and Sunday, October 22.
Outreach to UCLA student groups and organizations to invite them to participate in the L.A. Cancer Challenge as runners/walkers, volunteers, or on-course entertainment.
Find places to share flyers or post about the event.
Assist with any projects to prepare for the event.
Who can be our Student Liaison?
Must be a current UCLA student – any level. Go Bruins!
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
An outgoing and enthusiastic personality is required. We’re a fun group!
Interest in non-profits, events, marketing, and communications is a plus.
