Every Wednesday, FEAST packages a week's worth of farm-fresh veggies for 75 families living in South Los Angeles. We are looking for volunteers to help with sorting and packaging groceries each week on Wednesdays.
There are two volunteer slots available. The morning shift from 9:00am - 11am and the afternoon shift from 3pm - 4:30pm.
We need help with the following tasks:
- Sort produce
- Add food scraps to compost bag
- Weigh produce
- Package produce in grocery bags
- Help carry/break down boxes
- Set up tables of extra produce for "grocery shopping style" distribution line for walk-ins
- Help sign in community members
- Assist folks through the grocery line
- Help with clean up/break down afterward
