Opportunity Description
Are you ready to make a meaningful impact in your community? Join us at the UCLA Stein Eye Institute—Center for Community Outreach and Policy for an incredible opportunity to volunteer in our Fall/Winter 2025 Preschool Vision Screening program! This is your chance to help young children shine by conducting vision screenings at local sites and spotting issues like refractive errors or eye muscle disorders early on. Your efforts can change lives and set preschoolers on a path to success in their school years!

No experience? No problem! We’ll provide all the training you need, including an in-person orientation in August and hands-on guidance from seasoned volunteers throughout the season. If you’re passionate about working with children aged 3 to 4 and can commit at least 30 hours from mid-September to January, we want you on our team! Screenings are usually just two to four hours long on Wednesday or Thursday mornings, and if you need a lift, carpool is available from Stein Plaza.

Mark your calendar: volunteer applications will be open from April 22nd to 30th! The selection process includes a quick phone interview, general online training with UCLA Health, background clearance, and verification of your vaccination history.

Plus, as a volunteer with the Jules and Doris Stein UCLA Support Group, you’ll have the chance to participate in our exciting Vision In-School and Ambassador Concierge programs. Don’t miss out on this thrilling opportunity to make a difference!
