UCLA Volunteer Center
Volunteer Duration:
Start Date:
Sat, 08/01/20
Time Details:
We ask that you would be committing to 2-3 video call or chats a week. These calls would last around 30 min each, but will really depend on the connection you seek to build as a companion volunteer.
Opportunity Description:
Some of my fellow classmates and I have created a non profit organization this summer to help connect those of the older generation with ourselves, especially in the time of COVID-19. Generation Connect is seeking to pair older adults with young kids, such as ourselves, to help build relationships and share stories and life lessons we have learned to help us in life. In order to do this, we are looking for student volunteers to participate in our program. This would include filling out a questionaire to best match you with an older adult, and then committing to 2-3 video calls or chats a week. This volunteer opportunity is something that can really help boost your resume, as you apply to a variety of post grad options, as we can together build and start this non-profit.
