Opportunity Description:
Community Helpline currently has opportunities for students as a Volunteer Crisis Listener and Intern Crisis Listener in the South Bay area.

Community Helpline was established in 1971 as a non-profit confidential crisis and referral hotline. Community Helpline provides a non-judgmental listening ear to our callers, while also assisting and connecting individuals coping with mental health issues or concerns with support and services in order to prevent serious crises.

The experience gained on the hotline is extremely useful for students who are considering graduate school and/ or a career in the Mental Health Field, including Clinical or Counseling Psychology, Social Work, Marriage and Family therapy, or the Medical Field or the Legal Field.

No previous experience is required. Attendance and successful completion of a five week training program is required. The training classes take place 3 times a year, in the Fall, Spring & Summer. Please see our website for an application and/or more information about training.

Students, professors, staff, or anyone who would like to be a volunteer for Community Helpline, please contact us by e-mail at chl@chelpline.org or go to our website at www.chelpline.org to obtain an application or if you have any additional questions.
