What started out in 1912 with only 15 animals is now the 133-acre Los Angeles Zoo, with over 1,100 different animals and exciting exhibits! On May 3, the UCLA Alumni Scholars and Volunteer Center have partnered together as sponsors of the LA Zoo Volunteer Project to do some gardening and help care for one of the most enjoyable outdoor attractions in Los Angeles.
Help supplement Griffith Park’s limited budget by providing much needed volunteer services in the old zoo area, which does not get a lot of attention. Griffith Park maintains a strong relationship with UCLA through our work in the last three Volunteer Days and follow-up projects. Strap on some tennis shoes, grab a bottle of sunscreen, and come enjoy the great outdoors on this sunny Spring afternoon! Do you love our good ol’ LA Zoo? Well, come help us keep it lookin’ new!
