This MLK Day, help L.A. Works restore and beautify Lincoln High, an institution that was one of the five schools in L.A.that spearheaded a movement to stop discrimination against Mexican-American youth in public schools during the era of MLK’s activism. Lincoln High is also home to some of the most vulnerable beneficiaries of the DREAM Act.

The 2018 City of West Hollywood Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service event will take place on Saturday, January 13 from 9am – 3pm at West Hollywood Elementary School. Volunteers are needed to help perform various landscaping, clean-up, and painting. Registration is required.

Help the Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy celebrate their MLK Day of Service from 9 am to 12 pm at Alta Vicente Reserve. Volunteers will remove invasive weeds – which degrade important wildlife habitat – and replace them with native, drought tolerant plants. All registered volunteers will be working outdoors, so please take closed-toed shoes, sun protection, water, and snacks.
