Even neighborhoods get the spring cleaning bug this time of year.
Starting at 8 a.m., hundreds of local and student volunteers descended on Westwood Village and the North Village for its annual clean-up. Sidewalks were being repainted, lamp posts got a fresh coat of “Westwood Blue,” and furniture and stray posters disappeared from the streets.
The Westwood Organized Mega Project is a collaboration between the UCLA Volunteer Center, the Westwood Community Council, several other local organizations and the business community.
Westwood-Century City Patch editor Sara Fay and other members of the Los Angeles Patch team were at the green Patch tent on Broxton Avenue. WOMP volunteers stopped by to sign up for the Westwood-Century City Patch newsletter and to pick up a Patch tote bag, T shirt or water bottle.
