Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service - Beethoven Street Elementary School
The Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service is a federal holiday observed on the third Monday in January that honors Dr. King’s legacy by turning remembrance into action through community service. Established to inspire Americans to engage in service, it transforms the holiday into a collective effort to build stronger and more inclusive communities To celebrate this day of service, the UCLA Volunteer Center and UCLA College Corps will host a service event at Beethoven Street Elementary School.
At Beethoven Street Elementary, they believe in "Be Respectful, Be Responsible, Be Safe and Be a Buddy, not a Bully." Along with their mission to inspire students to meet their highest potential, the parents and staff at Beethoven work extremely hard to ensure their students have the best educational experience from transitional kindergarten (TK) to 5th grade.
For this service event, UCLA volunteers will help with tasks such as a mural project, painting, planting trees, and various other beatification tasks around the campus.
