UCLA OCD Intensive Treatment Program

Description of Organization & Population Served: The UCLA Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) Intensive Outpatient Program is a 30-day intensive treatment program specifically designed for adults with severe or disabling OCD. It operates Mon.-Fri. 9-1 p.m. and provides both individual and group therapy for OCD. Treatments include cognitive behavior therapy and medication management.

r Description of Fieldwork Project & Responsibilities of Intern/Volunteer: The intern/volunteer will act as “coach” to patients as they carry out their behavior therapy assignments. This will include escorting patients on their assignment, monitoring their anxiety and providing support. Some assignments may be done in the home or off campus. Interns will provide feedback to the treatment team and will receive weekly supervision from trained clinicians.

r Special Qualifications: Psychology major, Completion of Psych 127 (Abnormal Psychology)

r Hourly Commitment per Week/Month: 8 hrs per week / 6 month commitment
