Once a quarter, the UCLA Office of Emergency Management teaches a twenty-hour Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) class available to students, staff & faculty. CERT is a nationally supported, locally implemented program that teaches people how to be better prepared for hazards that may affect their communities and trains them in basic disaster response skills. Once graduated, CERTs can be called to assist during emergencies and disasters on campus or volunteer during emergency preparedness events. CERT components will include:

 

  • Disaster Preparedness
  • Fire Safety
  • Disaster Medical Operations
  • Disaster Psychology
  • Light Search and Rescue
  • CERT Team Organization
  • CERT & Terrorism
