Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers Centennial Gala

Posted on October 25th, 2016

Duration: Single Day
Date: Oct 28, 2016

The Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers are the people who have, for 100 years, set the standards for the Motion Picture and Television Industry. They invented the color bars, HD and UHD TV, and had a hand in every major technological advancement in the industry over the last century.

This year, SMPTE turns 100 years old and they are celebrating with a Gala Dinner and Awards show on Friday, October 28th. Our Production Company, Homerun Entertainment, for which I am an Associate Producer, is in charge of organizing the event. We are seeking student volunteers to work, among other capacities, as Shadows for some of our Talent. Among those attending will be Film industry giants James Cameron and George Lucas. The event is hosted by John O’Hurley of Seinfeld fame. This is a great opportunity for students interested in entering The Industry to get a firsthand glimpse at how live events come together, and to be a part of celebrating one of the most critical organizations in the world of Film and Television.Interested students can email me directly at: We’d be very excited if any UCLA students are interested!
