The mission of Food Forward is to rescue fresh local produce that would otherwise go to waste, connecting this abundance with people in need, and inspiring others to do the same. By recovering excess fruits and vegetables from private properties, public spaces, farmers and wholesale markets, and partnering with direct-service agencies, Food Forward provides food to over 100,000 individuals per month.
On this One Bus, One Cause project, Bruin volunteers will visit Franklin Canyon Orange Grove to harvest oranges, which will then be delivered to local organizations for distribution.
