Inspire 1500+ High School Students to Go to College, All in One Day at UCLA!

Posted on September 7th, 2016

Duration: Single Day
Date: Oct 15, 2016

The Fulfillment Fund works to make college a reality for students in economically and educationally under-resourced communities.

Destination College is the Fulfillment Fund’s 20th annual event that provies high school students with a multi-faceted view of what to expect at college and how to prepare to get there. This inspirational event at UCLA includes workshops, motivational speakers, a campus tour, and a huge college fair featuring more than 75 colleges from around the country!

The Fulfillment Fund is looking for volunteers who are friendly, energetic, positive, and are comfortable interacting with high school students to make Destination College a success!

There are three options for volunteering at Destination College:

Event Logistics: Morning

Shift: 7am-11am

Roles: Setting up, directing foot traffic, welcoming visitors, registration, ushering students for opening program, liaison to presenters, workshop chaperones.

Event Logistics: All Day

Shift: 7am-3pm

Roles: College fair check-in, college representatives liaison, lunch logistics, water/ drinks distribution, afternoon workshops for parents, student guides.

Chaperone

Shift: 8:30am-12pm

Roles: Chaperones will get a first hand look at what our students, parents, and mentors experience when coming to Destination College. Chaperones will help event flow by chaperoning groups to their workshop locations as well as attending the various workshops to support the facilitators. Familiarity with UCLA campus is helpful but not a requirement.
