CoachArt’s mission is to create a transformative arts and athletics community for families impacted by childhood chronic illness.
Program Description: Volunteers can choose to participate in individual “in-home lessons” at the home of a CoachArt student, or in a “CoachArt Club” involving groups of volunteers and groups of students at a community site in Los Angeles.
Volunteer Role & Responsibilities:
“In-Home Lesson” Volunteer Duties: Design a collaborative 8-week curriculum on the activity/skill you are sharing with your student. You will be provided with resources and adaptive lesson planning templates.
“CoachArt Club” Volunteer Duties: Lead or assist a group of 15-20 students in an arts or athletics club. Help provide adaptive assistance to students with physical limitations.
Time Commitment: One hour per week, for 8 weeks.
Requirements: Prospective volunteers must pass a background check and attend a CoachArt training before volunteering.
Benefits: The CoachArt experience give volunteers the opportunity to share their respective creativity and talents with our students, while also discovering new passions of their own.
