- The project is scheduled every Wednesday from 6:00pm until 8:00pm. However, if a larger group would like to volunteer together, it is possible to set up a special date and time just for them.

L.A. Works is a nonprofit volunteer action center that creates and implements hands-on community service projects throughout the greater Los Angeles area. We have been active in Los Angeles since 1991.
We are making Wellness Check calls to older adults in Los Angeles. Currently, we are specifically calling the 17,000+ senior residents of Council District 5 which encompasses Westwood and surrounding areas in West Los Angeles.
The goal of this project is to make neighborly check-in calls to seniors, inform them of available resources and see if they need any support during the pandemic.
The project is done remotely. Volunteers can participate from anywhere if they have a computer and a phone. For each two-hour project, we meet up in a Zoom conference, conduct a short orientation, and then we make calls together. Individuals and groups are welcome.
