The 15 of us really enjoyed the experience, and although the volunteer site staff were disorganized in communicating their needs, we still all had a great time, considering how All-Hill Halloween is not happening at UCLA this year, so this was our chance to reach out to underprivileged youth. I look forward to doing more volunteer days with my residents this year as we continue to build a community of heroes on our floor.

From 9am to 12pm I was at West Adams 24 st. Elementary School and tended their community garden. In my hat and gloves I was ready for some mulching and digging, putting up a new chicken wire fencing for the sweet pea vines to grow on. The community comes together and provided refreshing beverages and lunch. Delicious chili this time, vegetables used from the garden. MMmmm. It was great to witness the community coming together keeping this garden a live and well.
