( UCLA Today ) --

Chancellor Gene Block and his wife, Carol, joined a group of incoming freshmen during New Student Orientation to write letters of thanks to U.S. troops in appreciation for their service. The letter-writing campaign was organized by the UCLA Volunteer Center in association with Operation Gratitude, which sends some 100,000 care packages or letters to troops overseas annually.
